| Description of Song A delicate brass-string guitar playing over orchestral strings introduces the chorus melody in the opening bars of this contemporary pop piece about a lost love. Warm lead and harmony vocals glide over a bed of guitars and strings in the opening verse. A somber chorus melody shifts the emotional sentiment and effectively contrasts the blissful verses. Heavily overdriven guitars and distorted background vocals in the interlude add dynamics to the composition. The opening guitar solo is revisited after the song climaxes and the calming orchestral strings fade to black to end the song. Story Behind the Song They say that time heals all wounds, but the scars never completely fade away. This song tells the story of how one relationship gone sour can ultimately destroy a persons ability to love again. Tortured and tormented, I wrote this song as an ode to my departed lover, in the hopes of either regaining her love or ridding myself of the emotional turmoil. None of my objectives were attained | |
